Inactive Accounts and Account Deletion

Because of the threaded conversation-like nature of discussion boards, we reserve the right to refuse a request for a mass deletion of your own posts, or an entire deletion of your account. But if you ask for your account to be deleted then we will do so and your posts will stay here.  That is to say, at the time that you, as a member, post any contribution to the forums, you immediately waive all claims of copyright over that work for all time in relation to such contributions appearing on the Ozspyderryders forums, but not otherwise.

We will delete your account if you have been inactive (i.e. haven't logged in for more than 6 months) and have ZERO posts or if you post inappropriate material.

If you have signed up but don't ever intend to post in the forums, you should still login occasionally in order to keep your account active.

Account Problems and Login Failure
If you are logged in but have a problem with your account, send one of the Admins or Moderators a Personal Message and they will fix the problem for you. Please DO NOT open a new account!

If you can't login, perhaps because you forgot your username or password, DON'T PANIC! - send one of the Admins or Moderators an Email and they will fix the problem for you. Please DO NOT open a new account!

In most cases your problem can be fixed without you having to re-register.

Please DO NOT open a new account unless you are requested to do so!

Changing Your Username
Please send one of the Admins or Moderators a Personal Message if you want your username changed. They can easily change your username or arrange that and will generally be happy to do so. Please DO NOT open a new account!

Changing Your Email Address
Please be sure that if you change your personal email address, you also do so here at Ozspyderryders. If you lose your password at any time in the future, you will need to have a current and valid email address in your profile to receive the lost password and verify any changes.

Please note that when you change the email address in your profile, you will be sent a new password. If you make a mistake with your email address and you don't receive the new password, DON'T PANIC!  - send one of the Admins or Moderators an Email and they will fix the problem for you. Please DO NOT open a new account!

Avatars and Signatures
Avatars must be no bigger than 100x100 pixels and 25 KB (25600 bytes).

The rules concerning inappropriate material apply to avatars and signatures also.

Commercial Sales and Advertising

The advertising and selling of products/services directly to our members is allowed but only by Members posting in the vendor section.

You must be a Full Member, with a good reputation amongst the members and have a history of good behavior.

You will be given your own special forum in the Vendors section. You may ONLY advertise and sell your products/services in your section of the forum.

You may answer technical questions about your products/services elsewhere.

You are allowed to display any or all of the following in your signature:

A link to your website.
A short 'blurb' about your business.

You are NOT ALLOWED to use your signature to advertise and sell your products/services.

If you, as a member of this forum, purchase products/services from a Vendor, either through the medium of the Vendors section or by any other means, you do so at your own risk, and you expressly waive any entitlement to bring any claim against an administrator or moderator with respect to any such transaction.

Buying and Selling Rules
The administrators and moderators expressly have no liability for the transactions which may occur between members of the forum, whether through the medium of the Trading Post section, or otherwise.

If you, as a member of this forum, purchase an item from another member of this forum, you do so at your own risk, and you expressly waive any entitlement to bring any claim against an administrator or moderator with respect to any such transaction.

Note: If you are a New Member you will not able to start a new topic in the For Sale section of the forum. However, you can reply to existing topics. This restriction is lifted once you are promoted to Jr Member. We have done this to discourage people from signing up just to sell something, and to protect ozspyderryders members from people who may be trying to rip them off.

Please DO NOT post your personal contact information (phone, address, e-mail etc.) when buying or selling items. Exchange such information by Personal Message and be sure you trust the person you are giving it to.

Inappropriate Material

Pornographic, obscene or adult material is NOT ALLOWED!

Please avoid swearing. You should be able to get your message across without using profanity.

Please do not post material that would be inappropriate for family viewing.

Discrimination and Abuse
Intolerant views towards any member based on their race, religion, gender etc., are NOT ALLOWED!

Sexual harassment, or harassment in any form is NOT ALLOWED!

Abusive comments, personal attacks, flaming, or derogatory insults are NOT ALLOWED!

It's fine to disagree with another members point of view, but please do so in a mature and civil manner.

Starting Topics and Posting in Topics
Please SEARCH before starting a new topic. Your question may have already been answered!

Please do not cross-post in two or more forums. If your topic could appropriately fit in more than one forum, please pick the one you feel is closest to your topic.

If you accidentally post in the wrong forum, ask a moderator for help. They will be happy to move your topic to the right forum.

Please make sure your title is a descriptive one. It saves a lot of time when people are trying to find information!

Please try to stay within the bounds of the subject of the topic. Off-topic posts may have to be removed or split from the topic to make a new topic.

Please do not reply to topics with "junk" posts that are designed to increase your post count and do not add anything positive to the content of the topic. You will only be wasting your time anyway, as these posts are likely to be removed.

Reporting Bad Posts
If you see a post that is offensive or you believe is in breach of the Rules and Guidelines, please help the moderators by using the "Report to moderator" link - it's located in the bottom right hand corner of every post. Your actions will be most welcome, and treated with confidentiality.

External Links and Copyright
Please do not post links with a comment such as, "Check out this link". Let members know what the link is about, rather than surprising them with it.

Linking to sites containing pornographic, obscene or adult material is NOT ALLOWED!

Do not post copyrighted material. If you are posting something that includes material or images from another source or website, credit the original source and include only an excerpt with a link to the original article.

Privacy and Personal Information
Please respect others privacy and do not post the contents of e-mails or PMs without the express permission of the other person(s) involved.

NEVER post your (or another member's) personal contact information such as address, phone number, e-mail etc. You don't know who is looking! Please use Personal Messages to exchange such information.

Rules and Guidelines

Breach of Rules and Guidelines

In most cases, a violation of these rules will result in either a warning or immediate deletion of your account, depending upon the seriousness of the offence. A repeat violation may result in you being banned from posting temporarily or permanently banned for serious or repeated incidents.

Disruptive Behavior
The moderators and administrators reserve the right to take action against a member who is disrupting the normal flow of the forum. This includes violations listed in the other rules, but may also include inciting trouble, provoking adverse reactions, generally attempting to disrupt the spirit of the forum, and other behaviour not yet foreseen.

Since this rule is fairly general, we will attempt to correct the problem by warning the violator (via PM, email, or posting in the topic) and giving him/her a chance to explain his/her behavior, but this is not always possible & accordingly may not occur. However, we will take further action only if WE deem it necessary.

Moderators and their Actions
Our Moderators are volunteers, and will do their best to enforce the Rules and Guidelines.

Their duties include:

Warning members who are in breach of the Rules and Guidelines.
Modifying or deleting posts that contain inappropriate material.
Deleting off-topic posts, or splitting them off to form new topics.

They will only take action when they deem it necessary, and they will use their own judgement where something falls within a grey area.

The moderators are chosen for their common sense, patience, and maturity. But remember that they are also only human, and may make mistakes from time to time (even admins make mistakes!).

Publicly disrespecting a moderator, or failing to follow any instructions given by a moderator, is a serious offence and can result in the disciplinary action outlined above.

Appealing a Decision
If you feel that you have been treated unfairly, you are welcome to contact an Administrator who will discuss (confidentially) the situation with you.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the administrators and moderators of this forum, should any legal action arise out of any content that you may post.

It should be noted that by taking on a moderating role, the administrators and moderators expressly do not take on any responsibility for the content of any contribution or post that any Ozspyderryders member may make.

You agree, by participating in this forum and enjoying the benefits of same, that any exchanges between members in any topic or private messages, are matters between such individual members for the purposes of any legal obligations that might arise, such as allegations of defamation, or statements and representations which may constitute misleading and deceptive conduct under the Trade Practices Act or similar legislation.

Ozspyderryders Rules and Guidelines

These Rules and Guidelines outline what we expect of this community, and what the members of this community should expect of each other.

Our aim is to build a community where people feel comfortable participating, a place where you can exchange ideas and even have spirited discussions, while treating others with respect and being treated with respect in return.

The Rules and Guidelines apply to all forums & sub-forums here. Any additional forum-specific guidelines will be posted in a sticky topic at the top of that forum.

The administrators reserve the right to modify existing rules and/or add additional rules as they see fit.

The administrators have the final say as to what is or is not acceptable behavior, and what is or is not appropriate content.

Please note that although these Rules and Guidelines are written primarily for the forums, you should assume that they apply to any other areas of the site where content is posted.

By becoming a registered member at Ozspyderryders, you agree to the Rules and Guidelines posted here.

Just a Refresher for all members, We know you have Joined! but HAVE you really acquainted yourself with the Guidelines?

Here's something you may have wondered about?,
: at the bottom of every post, there is a link "Report to Moderator" this allows you to report a specific post instead of a full Topic, it will also ensure that it is read and actioned on by all Moderators as a group!
As we all read things differently it best that your reports are sent in this manner!

A while back I was asked to help my friends on their Website, This one , it's a great site!
So lets keep it that way and enjoy each others interactions and comments

This Site/Forum is about shared Knowledge! and Sharing the experience of something we all enjoy the Can Am Spyder
